George M. Harlan, 82, 1834 N. Union St., died today in Delaware State Hospital where he had been a patient since September.
   Mr. Harlan was a sheet metal worker and retired 12 years ago after long service with the William Shinn Sheet Metal Co.
   His wife, Mrs. Margaret Boyle Harlan died in 1962.
   Mr. Harlan was a member of Lafayette Lodge 14, AF&AM.
   He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Rita M. White, Wilmington Manor; a sister, Mrs. Eva Jane Burlin of Tampa, Fla. and Chatham, Mass.: seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
   Services will be Wednesday at 11 at the Doherty Brothers Funeral Home, 1900 Delaware Ave. where friends may call an hour before the service. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
