Mr. Fleming passed away on October 1, 1990, at University of South Alabama Medical Center.
He was a graduate of Carmichael High School, attended Jones County Junior College, and Mississippi State University. He completed a year's training at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. He served in the Army as a chief medic aid man in the Korean Conflict. He was employed by University South Alabama Medical Center for the past 34 years. He was also a member of several professional and civic organizations and member of the Chickasaw United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Ruth Persitt Fleming; two sons, Sam Percy Fleming, Jr., Tuscaloosa, Ala.; John Wesley Fleming, Chickasaw, Ala.; one daughter-in-law, Teresa Diane Stanley Fleming, Chickasaw, Ala.; four brothers, C.L. Fleming, Jr., Stonewall; Rex M. Fleming, Macon, Ga.; Joe Fleming, Gulfport; Fred Fleming, Chickasaw, Ala.; one sister, Madalynne McLaurin, Heidelberg, several nieces and nephews.
