A. Ray O'Steen, Jr.

A. Ray O'Steen Jr. passed away on September 22, 1991, in Greensboro, North Carolina.
   He was born in Durham, North Carolina, on August 26, 1925. He was married to the former Margaret Russell of Durham on June 6, 1949. Ray and Margaret moved to Quitman in September of 1977 where Ray worked as a VP of Operations at the Quitman Knitting Mills.
   The O'Steens were members of the First Baptist Church where Ray served on the Finance Committee, Pastor Search Committee and organized the Young Couples Class.
   He was active with local and state Chamber of Commerce and member of the Mississippi MFG Association.
   He is survived by his wife, Margaret Russell O'Steen; sons, Albert R. O'Steen, III, Mayodan; Michael R. O'Steen, Tryon; David R. O'Steen, Tuscaloosa; brother, Arthur O'Steen, Chicago; sister, Norma Lee Fisher, St. Pauls, N.C.; and four grandchildren.


Robert Earl Taylor

Graveside services for Robert Earl Taylor were held on September 16, 1991, at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
   Mr. Taylor, a native of Quitman and a resident of Saraland for the past 44 years, passed away in California.
   He is survived by his mother, Hilda Mae Taylor, Saraland, Ala.; two sons, Robert Brian Taylor, Montgomery, Alabama; Christian Shane Taylor, White CLay, Nebraska; one daughter, Tiffany Shannon Taylor, White Clay, Nebraska; five sisters, Betty Joe Massingill, Irvington, Ala.; Shirley Ann Whiteworth, Huntsville, Ala.; Jewel Virginia Andrews, Mobile; Bonnie McGinnis, Houston, Texas; Cynthia Diane Roberts, Fairview, Ala.; two brothers, James Edgar Taylor, Mobile; George Thomas Taylor, Semmes, Ala.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
   He was preceded in death by his father the late George Taylor.


Lillian Virginia McKenzie

Services for Lillian Virginia McKenzie, age 95, of Rt. 4 Quitman, were held on September 24, 1991, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Manassa Cemetery.
   Mrs. McKenzie passed away on September 22, 1991, at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile, Ala.
   She was a member of the Manassa Southern Methodist Church.
   She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Annie Ruth Brock, Chickasaw, Ala.; one sister, Ethel Fleming, Quitman; two granddaughters, Frankie Anne Brock, Monroeville, Ala.; Claudia Brock; one grandson, Dr. Larry D. Brock; great granddaughter, Christian Brock; great grandson, Ryan Brock, all of Mobile, Ala.; several nieces and nephews.


Lee Allen Johnson

Services for Lee Allen Johnson, age 88, of Meridian, were held on September 26, 1991, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. Rev. Ocie Long officiated.
   Mr. Johnson passed away on September 24, 1991, at Broadmoore Nursing Center in Meridian.
   He is survived by two sons, Elerie Johnson, Boston, Mass.; Glen Johnson, Meridian; five daughters, Lena Quaters, Ruth House, both of Jackson; Mada Boutwell, Doris Lewis, both of Meridian; Grace Wardlow, Arlington, Texas; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mississippi Burn Center or Heart Fund.
