Memorial services for Edythe V. Odom, age 72, of Vicksburg, were held June 25, 1991, at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Clint Gill, pastor of the Crawford United Methodist Church, officiated.
Mrs. Odom passed away on June 22, 1991, at her residence.
She was a former employee of The Valley and a retired employee of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, member of Daughters of Confederacy and the Order of the Eastern Star, member of Hawkins United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Richard F. Odom, Alton, Missouri, one granddaughter, Pfc. Christy Lee Odom, Fort Campbell, Ky., and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wheeler F. Odom in June 1989.
Memorials can be made to Hawkins United Methodist Church.
Floyd Holifield

Services for Floyd Holifield, age 83, of Rt. 3, Quitman, were held June 29, 1991, at Corinth Assembly of God Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Johnny Mosley and Rev. Grant Duncan officiated. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Holifield passed away on June 27, 1991, at Rush Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Odell Holifield, Quitman; six sons, Clifton Holifield, Jimmy Dale Holifield, both of Mobile; Lloyd Holifield, Ervin Holifield, Virgil Holifield, Leroy Holifield, all of Quitman; two daughters, Myrtle Lucille Scrimpshire, Quitman; Mary Lou Carney, Mobile; one sister, Etta Vee Lewis, Mobile; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
Leila M. Thornton

Graveside services for Leila M. Thornton, age 97, of Pachuta, were held July 2, 1991, at the Pachuta Cemetery with Rev. John Mackey officiating. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Thornton was a retired postmistress for the Pachuta Post Office, member of the Pachuta Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of Clarke County.
She is survived by Mrs. Lora T. Buckley of Sherman Mills, Maine.
