Charles E. "Buddy" Garrick

Charles E. "Buddy" Garrick, age 64, a former Quitman resident, passed away July 30, 1992, in Jackson, following a lengthly illness.
He was retired from International Paper Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wiggins, Mississippi.
Survivors include wife, Jean Sheffield Garrick, Wiggins; son, Charles Eugene Garrick, Columbus; daughter, Jan D. Garrick, Jackson; two sisters, Glen G. Collier and Maud K. Garrick, both of Montgomery, Ala.; one brother, C.E. Garrick, Jr., of Schenectady, New York.
Services were held August 1, at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins and at the Sunny South Baptist Church, Sunny South, Alabama, with the Rev. James Street officiating. Burial was at the Sunny South Cemetery. The family requests donations to the Arthritis Foundation.

Services for Walter Bivian Cooper, age 68, of Quitman, were held on August 12, 1992, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Crossroads Church Cemetery. Rev. James Parsons officiated.
Mr. Cooper passed away on August 8, 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Cooper, Memphis, TN; two sons, Walter L. Cooper, Aubie G. Cooper, Quitman; two step-sons, Michael Watson, Billy Voyles, Memphis; three daughters, Shirley Cooper, Quitman; Kathy Kirkpatrick, Memphis; Linda Clausen, Norfolk, VA; one step-daughter, Patricia Watson, Memphis; one sister, Christine Whittington, Meridian; and ten grandchildren.
Harvey Edward Chestnut

Graveside services for Harvey Edward Chestnut, age 85, of Rt. 1 Quitman, were held on August 8, 1992, at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. James Seale and Rev. Johnny Mosley officiated.
Mr. Chestnut passed away on August 6, 1992, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fannie Chestnut, Quitman; three sons, Eddie Ray Chestnut, Slidell, LA; Raymond Eugene Jordan and Robert Mars, both of Quitman; two daughters, Billie Miller and Evelyn Headrick, both of Quitman; one brother Claude Chestnut, Laurel; one sister, Maude Brown, Alexander, LA; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Opal Lee Hill Robinson

Services for Opal Lee Hill Robinson, age 76, of Rt. 4 Quitman, were held on August 12, 1992, at Antioch Baptist Church with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. Rev. Edward Collins and Rev. W.L. Shirley officiated.
Mrs. Robinson passed away on August 8, 1992, in Shubuta.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Robinson and Ted Robinson, Quitman; six daughters, Mrs. Lucille Smith, Quitman; Mrs. Marie Bowers, Mrs. Mary Smith, Mrs. JoAnn Gray, all of Meridian; Mrs. Aline Dimmett, Mrs. Earline Larkin, Indianapolis, IN; one sister, Mrs. Lilly Ruth Reynolds, Meridian; nineteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
