James Roscoe McCarra

Services for James Roscoe McCarra were held September 12, 1992, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Elim Cemetery. Rev. Major Speights and Rev. Ray McCorkel officiated.
   Mr. McCarra, age 54, of La Place, LA, passed away on September 9, 1992, at Elmwood Medical Center, La Place, LA. He was employed with Illinois Central Railroad for thirty-three years. He was born in Clarke County and was a member of the First Baptist Church of La Place, LA.
   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Tommy McCarra, La Place, LA; one son, Dylan McCarra, East Windsor, Conn.; one daughter-in-law, Tammie McCarra, East Windsor, Conn.; six brothers, Rufus McCarra; Dwight McCarra and Paul McCarra, all of Quitman; Neville McCarra, Slidell, LA; Ray McCarra and Russell McCarra, Pascagoula; three sisters, Joyce Dew, Evelyn Duvalle and Lola Covington, all of Quitman; two grandchildren, Christopher James McCarra and Jennifer Danielle McCarra.


Jeffrey Allen Skelton

Services for Jeffrey Allen Skelton were held Wednesday, September 16, 1992, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Enterprise Cemetery. Rev. C.C. Burns and Rev. Kay Reynolds officiated.
   Mr. Skelton, age 28, of Rt. 3 Quitman, passed away on September 13, 1992, at the University Hospital in Jackson.
   He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Skelton.
   He is survived by his fiancee, Shelia Joiner; parents, Mr. and Mrs. K.R. Shirley, Quitman; one sister, Gina Skelton, Forest; two step-sisters, Lisa Bruce, Biloxi; Gaye Stokes, Gulfport; host of aunts, uncles, cousins and several nieces and nephews.


Bessie Jones

Services for Bessie Jones were held on Monday, September 14, 1992, at Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville with burial at Pilgrim.
   Mrs. Jones passed away on Thursday, September 10, 1992, at Jones County Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
   She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Jefcoat, Jackson; one son, Danny Jones, New York City; one brother, Louis Jamison; three sisters, Reba Whitley; Mavis Fairchilds and Ann Strickland; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Hubert Larry Jones and husband, (Wiley) O.L. Jones, former Clarke Countians.
   Serving as pallbearers were: Ben Elfring, Otis Beech, John Whitley, Melvin Smith, Jeff Finch, and Fred Strickland.
