 Services for Alfred Barnes, 87, of Route 4 Stonewall, were held on Wednesday, September 24, 1986 at the Stonewall Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Barnes died on Monday, September 22, 1986 at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital, Quitman. Burial followed the services, conducted by Dr. Albert McMullen, Rev. Buddy Braddock, and Rev. Charles Barnes, at Stonewall Cemetery.
   Barnes was a member of the Stonewall Baptist Church, a member of the Stonewall Masonic Lodge, Hamasa Shrine, Scottish Rite and York Rite, and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
   Survivors include his wife, Pearl Barnes, Stonewall; a son, Charles R. Barnes of Millersville, Maryland; five daughters: Sarah Richardson, Pachuta; Ann Jackson, Stonewall; Emily Bigelow, Stonewall; Jean Fulton, Montgomery, Alabama; and Betty Johnson, Griffin, Georgia; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
