Daisy Ophelia Taylor was born on 30 January 1922 in Mississippi. She died on 2 August 2011 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She is buried in Covington Cemetery in Quitman, Clarke, Mississippi. She adopted Bobby Wayne Lafferty and Renee Lafferty.

   Services for Daisy Ophelia Dew were held Saturday, August 6, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Troy Dew officiating. Burial was in Covington Cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
   Mrs. Dew, 89, of Quitman, Mississippi died Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Lea Regional Hospital in Hobbs, New Mexico.
   Survivors include her sons, James Dew, John Dew, Jackie Dew, Willie Dew and Donald Dew; daughters, Elaine Reed, Ann Minch, Kay Shivers and Renee Perish; 21 grandchildren and one sister, Rachel Strickland.
   Pallbearers were Willie Dew, Donald Dew, Jackie Dew, Jr., Bruce Dew, Brandon Dew and Keith Reed.
   Visitation was held Friday, from 2-8 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home.
