Services for Benny John Brown will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel with the Rev. David Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Toomsuba.
   Mr. Brown, 59, of Meridian, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, at Heartfelt Hospice.
   Survivors include five children, Lisa Clark and her husband, Jimmy, Clifton Earl, John Lee Brown and his wife, Sabrina, LaKeisha Neal and John Brown, all of Meridian; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; five brothers, Robert Brown Jr. and his wife, Helen, Jimmy Brown Jr. and his wife, Bobbie, Charles Lee Brown and his wife, Sandra, Anthony J. Brown Sr. and his wife, Trechella, all of Meridian; and Johnny Lee Brown of Cleveland, Ohio; four sisters, Katie Ezell, Barbara Easter and her husband, Barron, and Lorine Landrum, all of Meridian; and Hazel Merritt of Akron, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
   He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
   Visitation will be Friday from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB - Services for Isiah "Issac" Nicholson will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home with the Rev. Evan E. McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Sinai Cemetery in Macon.
   Mr. Nicholson, 71, of Shuqualak, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, in Shuqualak.
   Survivors include his wife, Lucille Nicholson of Detroit; four daughters, Gloria Platt of Phoenix; Barbara Duncan and Delois Nicholson, both of Detroit; and Angel Nicholson of Shreveport, La.; four sons, Willie, Wallace, Jimmy and Issac Nicholson, Jr., all of Detroit; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ida Stevens and Lucille Wilborn, both of Macon; Fannie Walker and her husband, Ben, of Shaw; and Lizzie B. Nicholson of Chicago; a brother, Willie L. Felton and his wife, Vena, of Shuqualak; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
   He was preceded in death by three sisters.
   Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.


Lucille Denson Mack

SEBASTOPOL - Services for Lucille Denson Mack will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Catherines Catholic Church with the Rev. David Hamm officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Ms. Mack 48, of Forest, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Choctaw Health Center.
   Survivors include her daughter, Toniya Denson Lay of Forest; son, Geno Shawn Mack of Newton County; a brother, Tommy Denson of Forest; her mother, Susan Denson of Forest; four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
   She was preceded in death by her brothers, Hendricks Denson and Billy Joe Denson.


Betty Sue Robinson

LAUREL - Services for Betty Sue Robinson will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Pine Hill Baptist Church in Enterprise with the Rev. Danny Bullock officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Memory Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
   Mrs. Robinson, 71, of Laurel, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, in her home. She was a retired registered nurse at the Veterans Administration in Jackson and a homemaker. She was a resident of Laurel for eight years and was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church in Enterprise. She was a member of the American Nursing Association and was a graduate of Mathis School of Nursing at Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans. She graduated from the University of Natchitoches, La., where she received her bachelor's of science degree and received her master's degree in nursing from the University of Maryland. She was a nurse for 50 years.
   Survivors include her sisters, Katherine VanRossum and her husband, Van, Mary Robinson Hobson, all of Laurel and Virginia Overby Terracciario and her husband, Tony, of Clarksville, Tenn.; a brother, Wallace Reid Robinson and his wife, Mary, of New South Wales, Australia; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, William Perry Robinson Sr. and Hazel Lawson Robinson; brothers, William Perry "Billy" Robinson Jr., Wilbur Jackson "Jack" Robinson; three nephews, Baby John Alvin Overby Jr., Stephen Van Overby and William Perry Overby; a niece, Carol Jean Robinson Chaddock of New South Wales.
   Pallbearers will be Kenny VanRossum, Jackie Robinson, Danny Robinson, Dick Hobson, Johnny Hobson, and Kevin Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Charles D. Cannon, Dr. Stephen Johnson, Buddy Crawford and John Clayton Miller.
   Visitation will be held Friday from 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home and beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the church.

Services for L.R. "Bud" Shumate will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Blackwater Baptist Church in Kemper County with the Revs. Dockie Hunnicutt and Tim Buchannan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
   Mr. Shumate, 69, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member and deacon of Blackwater Baptist Church. He also was a member of Shriner's Organization.
   Survivors include his wife, Brenda Shumate of Meridian; a son, Curtis P. Shumate and his wife, Allison, of Daleville; a daughter, Louise Stevens and her husband, Justin, of Daleville; grandchildren, Eli Shumate, Elizabeth Shumate and Brendan Stevens; brothers, John Shumate and his wife, Hazel, and Edwin Shumate and his wife, Elaine, all of Meridian; and a sister, Mary Woodall of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Mary Shumate, a brother, Curtis Shumate, and a sister, Mildred Shumate.
   Visitation will be held Friday from 5 p.m. -8 p.m. at the funeral home.

   Mr. Roberts, 87, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in his home.
   Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jossie Edna Roberts of Meridian; his children, Dorothy Wilson and her husband, Jack, of San Antonio; Jessie Faye Pace and her husband, Larry, Chester Roberts and his wife, Cissy, and Randall Roberts and his wife, Jodean, all of Meridian; sisters, Viola Lovette, Lee Berta Hatley, Minnie Espy, Dorothy Mae Matlock and Edna Earl Eshee; a brother, Marvin Roberts; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his brothers, W.L. "Duck" Roberts and James L. "Runt" Roberts; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
   Pallbearers will be Marty Patrick Reed, Charles Roberts, Troy Roberts, Matt Roberts, Martin Douglas Reed and Taylor Satcher.
   Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m. -8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Chester Carter will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Shubuta with the Rev. Robert McDonald officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Clark's Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Mr. Carter, 80, of Shubuta, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at Lakeside Living Center in Quitman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
   Survivors include his wife, Irene Carter of Shubuta; sons, Richard McDonald and his wife, Faye, of Jackson, the Rev. Robert McDonald and his wife, Shylinda, of Quitman and Chester Carter Jr. of Englewood, Calif.; daughters, Carolyn Stevens of Quitman, Denise Lofton of Tampa, Fla., Bonnie Nixon and her husband, William, of Laurel; 19 children; 18 great-grandchildren; an aunt, Alemeo Carter and an uncle, Lester Carter, both of Shubuta.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Lofton and Annie Mae Carter; a sister, three brothers and one son.
   Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m. -7 p.m. at the church.


Robin O'Neal Thomas

BESSEMER, Ala. - Graveside services for Robin O'Neal "Bob" Thomas will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Winslett officiating. Brown Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Mr. Thomas, 74, of Bessemer, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in Bessemer.
   Survivors include his wife of 50 years. Lenora Jane Thomas of Bessemer; daughters, Cathy Ann Robinson of Hoover, Sandra Thomas Powell of Alliance and Robin Lynn Weems of Bessemer; a son, Jeffrey Carl Thomas of Bessemer; a brother, Grady Leon Thomas and his wife, Marie, of Meridian, Miss.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
   Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 p.m. -1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.


Lorenza Williams

Services for Lorenza Williams will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Enterprise Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Mr. Williams, 84, of Meridian, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, in Meridian. He was a retired barber at Scott's Barber Shop. He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and on the finance committee.
   Survivors include his wife, Bernice Williams; several sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
   Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m. -7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wilner E. Pritchett was born on 23 July 1918 in Brewton, Escambia, Alabama. She died on 29 September 2004. She is buried in Springhill Metho...
