A.T. Thrash

Services for A.T. "Winkie" Thrash were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Rob Gill and Dr. W.D. Pigott officiating. Burial was to be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
   Mr. Thrash, 82, of Meridian, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, in his home. He was retired from Smith Bakery. He was a member of Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church and coached little league for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II.
   Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mavis Thrash of Meridian; a daughter, Patsy Ridginer of Meridian; grandchildren, Kim Ridinger of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Casey Ridinger of Meridian; sisters, Peggy Gray and her husband, Clifford, of Hutnsville, Ala. and Linda Cleveland and her husband, Wayne, of Brentwood, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by four brothers, a sister and his parents, Oliver and Eva Thrash.
   Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class.

Marshall Weems

FOREST - Services for Marshall Weems will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Ott and Lee Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Anderson and Elder George Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
   Mr. Weems, 69, of Forest, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Hospice in His Hands in Madden. He was a native and lifelong resident of the Piketon Community in Scott County. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He loved music and was a very good guitar player. He loved coin collecting. He was a sawmill operator with Weems Lumber Mill for many years.
   Survivors include his wife, Patricia Weems of Forest; a son, Doyle Weems and his wife, Barbara, of Forest; daughters, Sonya Weems of Meridian, Betty Taylor and her husband, Donny, of Forest and Marcia Green and her husband, C.M., of Walnut Grove; a brother, Wayne Weems of Jackson; sisters, Doris Brown of Crystal Springs and Helen Van Etten of Forest; grandchildren, Justin Shoemaker, Jordan Taylor, Garrett Taylor and Devon Weems.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Weems Sr. and Effie Weems; a brother, Isaac Weems Jr.; and sisters, Eloise Edwards and Merlene Gibbs.
   Pallbearers will be Doug Van Etten, Michael Jones, Larry Weems, Billy Wayne Weems, David Earl Weems and Jimmy Brown.
   Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Wayne Hall, Doc Myatt, Bobby Taylor, James Jones, Ricky McGee, Billy Randall, Danny Burkes, K.C. Walters, Garrett Taylor, Devon Weems, Justin Shoemaker, Jordan Taylor and Ronnie Van Etten.
   Visitation will be today from 5 pm.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.


Annie Jewel Castles

Services for Annie Jewel Castles will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Chunky Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Mrs. Castles, 96, of Powder Springs, Ga., died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, in Powder Springs.
   Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. and Wednesday 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.


Francis S. Blada

Graveside services for Francis S. Blada will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Mr. Blada, 86, of Meridian, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a member of The Evangel Temple. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II.
   Survivors include his children, Pamela Shelby and her husband, Roger, Paula Thomson and Jim Blada, all of Meridian; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Blada and his wife, Lois, of Lawndale, Calif.; sisters, Joyce Baily and her husband, Noel, Lillian Swendernan and Florence Edwards, all of Illinois; sisters-in-law, Patricia Blada of California and Ruth Spicer and her husband, Darryl, of Illinois; a brother-in-law, Bobby Hall and his wife, Ann, of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Birdie Ann Blada; a great-granddaughter, Octavia Brown; a brother, Hal Blada; sisters, Deloris Blada, Ruth Blada and Ethel Depreist.
   Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

MACON - Services for Jessie J. Green Sr. will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Thomas Cherry and R.L. Hunnicutt officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Macon.
   Mr. Green, 90, of Meridian, formerly of Macon, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Regency Hospital of Meridian. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.
   Survivors include his wife, Floy Green of Causeyville; a daughter, Dolly Green Fulgham of Ackerman; sons, Jessie Green Jr. of Macon and Raymond Green of Louisville; five grandchildren; sisters, Louise Kirkland of Pascagoula and Bill Weaver of Portola, Calif.; and a brother, Robert Green of Grand Bay, Ala.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Dorroh Green.
   Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., the Palmer Home in Columbus or a charity of choice.
   Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

   Mrs. Mayor, 91, of Biloxi, formerly of McHenry, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Biloxi Community Living Center.
   Survivors include her daughter, Jerri Kidd and her husband, Morris G., of Biloxi; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Genora Cox Brown and her husband, Glayson, of Lucedale and Ina Belle Carter of Pascagoula; and several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her brother, Tollie C. Cox; sisters, Winnie Flurry, Eva Anderson and Annie Walker; and her husband, Alex S. Mayor.


Christine Shores

Graveside services for Christine Shores will be held today at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmie L. Windham officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Miss Shores, 96, of Meridian, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Queen City Nursing Center.
   The Masons of Mississippi have provided for her welfare for more than 90 years at the Masonic Home, until she was admitted to the Queen City Nursing Center.


Vicki Ailene Bolton

Memorial services for Vickie Ailene Bolton will be held at a later date. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Mrs. Bolton, 50, of Hickory, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a retired electronics technician with National Semiconductor.
   Survivors include her son, Anthony Broadway; her mother, Doris Griffin; and a brother, James Krusemark.


Effie Mae Barfoot
