Oscar Dell Daniels

Oscar Dell Daniels, age 76, a longtime resident of Yakima, Washington, died Friday, February 4, 1994, at the Tuskegee, Ala., Veteran's Medical Center.
   He was born November 15, 1917, in Quitman to John and Annie Mae (Campbell) Daniels. He moved to Yakima in 1946 after serving with the U.S. Army in Germany in World War II. He was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge, December 1944 and awarded the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantryman Awards; and a guard at the Nuremberg's War Crimes Tribunals.
   Oscar married Mary Tipton in 1949. She passed away in 1979. In 1986, he married Jeanie Formato and she passed away in 1988.
   He owned the Oscar Daniels Housemoving and Demolition business in Yakima for 40 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans; American Legion and several fraternal lodges.
   Survivors include his son, Gilbert Dell Daniels, Yakima; daughter, Brenda Pineda, Auburn; one sister, Dorothy Makarainen, Concord, CA; one brother, Eugene Daniels, Peshatin, WA; and numerous grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bryant, Robert and Chester; one sister, Sadie Mae, and a son, Oscar Dean Daniels, in 1978.
   Services were held at the Langeuin - Mussetter Funeral Home on February 10, 1994, and burial was at the Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima. Williams Wharton Post #379 conducted full military honors.


Gladys Newton Howell Powers

Services for Gladys Newton Howell Powers were held on Saturday, March 5, 1994, at Zions Rest Cemetery, Eucutta, Wayne County.
   Mrs. Powers, age 73, passed away on February 22, 1994, at her home in Hayward, CA.
   Survivors include one son, Robert Trahan, Hayward, CA; one sister, Joy McMullian, Kenner, LA; one brother, Bill Howell, New Orleans, LA; and three grandchildren.
