Inez Sellers Lacy

Services for Inez Sellers Lacy were held September 1, 1994, at First Baptist Church in Quitman with Dr. John Stevens officiating.
   Services were also held on September 6, 1994, at Memorial Chapel in Ft. Myers, Virginia, with burial in Arlington National Cemetery.
   Lacy, 61, of Quitman, died August 30, 1994, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
   Survivors include her husband, Dave Lacy, Quitman; son, Douglas Samuel Morse, Reston, VA; daughter, Deborah M. Nordstorm, Murrells Inlet, S.C.; brother, George Clifton Sellers, Memphis, TN; and five grandchildren.
   Mrs. Lacy was a member of the First Baptist Church, Quitman, where she was active in choir and other church activities; a member of the Clarke County Chamber of Commerce and a congressional aide to G. V. "Sonny" Montgomery.


John Shelman Griffin

Services for John Shelman Griffin were held on August 31, 1994, at East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Albert Creel and Rev. James Irby officiated.
   Mr. Griffin, 82, died August 30, 1994, at Benchmark Nursing Home in Marion.
   Survivors include a wife, Lila Griffin, Quitman; four sons, Bobby Griffin, Shirlune Griffin, Willie Griffin, all of Quitman; and Melton Griffin, Butler, AL; daughter, Trudie Audie Griffith, Quitman; two sisters, Ardell Robinson, Quitman; and Ella Boles, Houston, TX: and nine grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were: Gary Ivy, Ferlin Ivy, Seaborn Ivy, Demie Ivy, Wade Ivy and Alvin Ivy. Honorary pallbearers were : Charlie Mathis, David Griffith and Ronnie Morgan.


Helen Florence Sission Grimes

Services for Florence Grimes were held September 3, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Stonewall Cemetery.
   Mrs. Grimes, 85, of Stonewall, died August 31, 1994, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
   Survivors include two sons, James M. Grimes, Tallapoosa, GA; and Donald C. Grimes, Memphis, TN; a daughter, Peggy Boyd, Meridian; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Franklin Grimes and daughter, Myra Frances Willingham.
   A resident of Stonewall since 1950, she was active in school and civic organizations for many years. She was a member of the Stonewall Assembly of God church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She also wrote a Stonewall news article for The Clarke County Tribune for many years.
