Richard Harlan Burlin was born on 2 July 1935 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts. He died on 18 December 1955 in Fayette, Texas from an auto accident.

Richard H. Burlin died at LaGrange, Texas, Suday as the result of injuries in an automobile accident. He was the son of Mrs. Charles W. Burlin of 2902 Villa Rosa Park and the late Col. Burlin. Other survivors include two brothers, Lt. Col. Robert B. Burlin, U.S. Army, and Lt. Cmdr. Charles W. Burlin, Jr., U.S. Navy. Burial will be at Washington, District of Columbia.
