Edward H. Hughes, 77, of Canoe Club Rd., Newark, died yesterday at Tilton Terrace Nursing Home, 801, N. Broom St., after a long illness.
He was an electrician for Continental Can Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1962. His wife, Ethel M., died in 1960. He is survived by a son, Edward H. Jr., of Elwood, Inda.; three daughters, Marian Stewart and Grace Myer, both of Wilmington, and Jane Barker, of McDaniel Crest; a sister, Grace Augustine, of Los Angeles; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday morning at 11 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 24th and Market Sts., where friends may call Sunday night. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
