William Cleveland Taylor (1902-1973)

William Cleveland Taylor was born on 27 May 1902 in Mississippi. He died on 13 February 1973 in Quitman, Clarke, Mississippi from a heart attack. He is buried in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Quitman, Clarke, Mississippi.

   William Cleveland (Bill) Taylor of Quitman, Route 3, passed away from a heart attack at Watkins Memorial Hospital Feb. 13 at the age of 70.
   Funeral services were held Feb. 14 at 3:00 p.m., at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralph Smith and Dr. William Earl Green officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
   Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Margaret Taylor; one son, Tip Taylor; four daughters, Mrs. Alice Evans, Mrs. Billie Ruth McDonald, Mrs. Margaret Colston all of Quitman; Mrs. Tina Dempsey, Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, Joe Taylor, Sam Taylor and Austin Taylor all of Quitman; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
   Mr. Taylor was long active in Clarke County affairs and was supervisor form 1948 to 1971.
